Kicking off Guest Post Tuesday is Julia from Relique Vintage Jewellery with an easy tutorial. Her step by step instructions for a Wire-Wrapped Button Ring makes it easy for us all to make our own unique bling! AND because we love to know what you are up to, and only if you want to, can you post a picture and link it to our Facebook page or comments ... lets keep inspiring each other with our creativity ... You'll Need
Wire Cutters
Chain Nose Pliers
Ring Mandrel or dowel
18g copper or silver wire
22g copper or silver wire
Button with a shank

Step 1. Cut a 40cm length of 18g wire. Determine the size you want to make your ring using either a ring mandrel or wrap a piece of loose string around your finger. With a pen, mark the point on the string where the end meets then match to a cylinder or dowel shape the same size.

Step 2. Wrap the length of the wire around the cylinder 4 times leaving both equal ends of the wire pointing upwards.

Step 3. Thread your button onto the wire until it reaches the middle of the ring base.

Step 4. Take each end of the wire one at a time and wrap it around the base of the shank until the button is held firmly. Cut off the excess ends and use chain nose pliers to squeeze the cut ends neatly into place.

Step 5. Cut a 50cm length of 22g wire and begin wrapping around the top of the ringbase 3 or 4 times moving onto wrapping the bulk of the wire around the base of the button. Keep going round and round until you have enough left to wrap 3 or 4 times on the opposite side of the ring band.

Step 6. Cut off excess wire and fold ends under to finish the ring.
