A Conversation with Tessa of Silly Goose

New Zealand Merino wool is the beautiful medium of choice for Tessa of Silly Goose. A wonderfully warm and yet 'non bulky' fabric, Tessa makes gorgeous leggings (for children and adults!) and tops in an exciting range of colours and styles to suit all tastes. Here, Tessa tells us more about the person behind the brand :) ...

Who is Silly Goose? Tessa Croall

What’s your “handmade groove ?”
I am a sewer, quilter, baker and maker. I generally give most things a go, some times good, some times not.

What’s on your bedside table right now? (hey, no tidying up or censoring)
Ha ha Two books I got for Christmas, I said I wanted sewing books and I got a Stephen King (which I do like to read but cant find the time) and another one which I have no idea is about, a travel card and 2 euros…god knows why

Who are your creative role models? What music, books, images, poetry spark your creative fire?
I follow a few blogs, mostly linked to my blog. I find looking at other peoples censored life very interesting, they seem so perfect.

What could you talk late into the night about with like minded peole?
Wine and how to change the world…. And fabric

If you could go to three free workshops/creative events this year which ones would they be? What are they about?

A quilting workshop
A cheese course
And a cake course

How do you balance your creative life with your family, life commitments?
I don’t really, just what ever is most pressing to get done

What is your favourite creative screw-up?
Sewing all my daughters merino knits with the stretch the wrong way… I only realised 6 months later

Kitchen table or studio?
Both!!!

Do you have a wish list? Can you tell us what’s on it?
A proper sewing table with the hole for the machine
A coverseamer
And to win lotto so I could sew all day and not work

  3. I smiled Tessa, when you mentioned that some peoples lives are perfect, I must admit, I have a tendency to post in a positive light, that does not mean that things are always perfect for me. Loving your clothes, cheers Marie
