Business Goals for 2012

If you are like me you are just starting to get ready for the new year and what it holds. You may have done a lot of thinking about your business and where to this year – and now you're motivated, and ready to make it happen!

The 2 key ingredients – you have to be honest with yourself and you need to be realistic.

It is great to have the dreams but goal setting is about how to achieve the dreams and it doesn't happen over night!

One of the most common goals of the new year is to GET ORGANISED! How much time do you spend on the computer when you want to be making? Or working around family demands / small children / day jobs? There are hundreds of websites out there that will guide you but here is one I like. Time Management Success - http://www.time-management-success.com/how-to-get-organized.html

I have used this type of template for a while now and it helps me sort my thinking and time. I can list my weekly jobs and be more specific about when they will be done.

Setting SMART goals is a proven approach to achieving success more quickly. Apply the SMART rules to your goals and see how they stand up

Is your goal …... ? How?

S – Specific
M – Measurable
A – Attainable
R – Realistic
T – Timely

We'd love to hear about your goals for 2012. Write back and share.

  1. I just wrote a post about how my one and only New Year's resolution (to keep that holiday feeling) has been amended already! I'm learning that the key to being organised for me is a simple system used consistently.

Great post, always good to be reminded that your goals should be S.M.A.R.T.
