A Conversation with Jack of Jack of Clubs

With an eye for the quirky and unusual, our newest member, Jack of Jack of Clubs uses vintage bakelite poker chips and fun images to create her current range of accessories.  Here, she shares an insight into her creative world....

Who is Jack of Clubs? Jack

What’s your “handmade groove ?”

Antique kitsch style accessories, but my ideas are always developing.

What’s on your bedside table right now? (hey, no tidying up or censoring)

Book and a wine glass (last night was a geordie shore and wine in bed night, dont tell anyone, lol).

Who are your creative role models? What music, books, images, poetry spark your creative fire?

Anything vintage i love! i really miss the carboot sales back in scotland, there’s just doesnt seem to be as much vintage goodies here, they really have to be hunted for.

What could you talk late into the night about with like minded people?

Anything from a zombie apocalypse to how awesome tea is.

If you could go to three free workshops/creative events this year which ones would they be? What are they about?

I used to do a silversmithing class and i really miss it, so id like to do some classes in something like pottery or carpentery, learn somemore useful skills.

How do you balance your creative life with your family, life commitments?

I work as a graphic designer part time and on my craft business at home the rest of the week and my partner works as a chef in the evenings so we get plenty of time together during the week.

What is your favourite creative screw-up?

Eerrmm im sure iv had plenty, but nothing springs to mind right now.

Kitchen table or studio?

Studio/bedroom usually, but sometimes i just plonk myself in front of the tv on the coffee table.

Do you have a wish list? Can you tell us what’s on it?

Residency for new zealand, and for all my lovely vintage things to magically get shipped over here so i can be surrounded by everything i love.
